Compatability of 128k sim in 7100i

Hey i'm new to posting here but have lurking for a while and y'all have a great thing going. I apologize if this question has already been asked but I couldn't find it by searching.

I am upgrading from an i560 with a black 128k sim to a 7100i and was wondering if it would be compatible. I just got my phone in the mail and am anxious to start playing with it but dont have a 64k sim. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Welcome to pinstack &ReW.

The 7100i needs to have the yellow 64k sim. You can put the black sim in the 7100i, but it will void any insurance, and may cause problems because it is too advanced for the BB.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    No Problems....

I haven't had any problems doing it, but just call Nextel and have the update their system so SIM, IMEI, and phone all match their records.
Then you wont have any problems with insurance. As for extra features
that you got on the i560, off network direct talk and the additional
direct connect group list. Big deal, you have a Blackberry.
Now just to figure out the WAV format for it is my next chore.

    Hope this helps....

Hello nextelnutt, welcome to pinstack and thanks for the info.

I would like to say I have seen many people swap sim cards and put themselves into a predicament where they are not covered by insurance.

As for the format for wav ringtones its very simple. Just create the ringtone in 1mono, 8bit, and 8,000hz. Try to keep it under 450kb in file size and around 30 seconds. If you have any trouble you can check out the "Ringer Request Thread" in my signature.

Thanks for the help. I ended putting in my 128k sim and everything seems to be working great.
