    Question Changing OS versions

I currently have OS 4.1 on my 7130c, and am looking for a University of Illinois theme for it. I found one, but the designer says it has to have OS 4.2. Is it possible to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2?

I searched the BB website, but really know what I was looking for and was afraid to download the wrong thing. Any help would be appreciated.

    Question Re: Changing OS versions

I recently purchased a 7130c and trying to sync it with the 4.3 desktop software. In the home screen it acknowledges my phone, and my pin number, but when i try to do anything else (ringtones etc through Roxio), I get the error message "There is no device attached. Please connect your dvice in order to view it's contents". I even uninstalled and put on 4.1 and I was still having the same ussues. Any suggestions?

    Wait a second here,

You say you have the 7130c, which is a GSM device, but your carrier is US Cellular, which supports the 7130e, a CDMA device.

There is AT&T has a version 4.2.1.96 for the 7130c GSM device. US Cellular only has 4.1.0.492. for the 7130e model, which I truly believe does not support 4.2.x.xx

So, if you are usin the 7130c, you will be able to update, if it's the 7130e, you're out of luck.

Check the Blackberry Devices web page to verify.

    Re: Changing OS versions

There is an upgrade on the Blackberry website for the 7130e to 4.2, but it is for Alltell and Verizon. US Cellular currently does not offer the upgrade. Would I destroy my device by using the Verizon or Alltell upgrades?
