| phone ring just for certain callers
I am looking for a way to have my phone ring for only certain callers from certain phone numbers, but for others, I would like to see that those people have called (ie, "missed calls") but I do not want the phone to ring. I would like it to ring just for VIPs. I tried editing my profiles, using "Use Active Profile Except For" and other combinitons but I just cannot get it right. It is a puzzle and I wonder if anyone has a solution? I want to control who makes my phone ring! |

If the exception in "profiles" does not work for you, you could try this: (Depending on your phone/software version / I have 4.1 on a 8700g), you can associate a custom ring to a contact - go to the contact info, - click the wheel and choose "Edit", - click again and choose "add custom phone tune" (once it is set, it becomes the very last field on the contact info screen and you have to scroll all the way down to change it) - choose MUTE Save your changes and you should be good to go. |

Create a profile for the contact, create and exception for the contact. Edit the profile to have mute, and edit the exception to use the profile you created.

If I understand correctly, what you want is an exception for a list of Callers you want to be notified about. Create A New Exception in the Profiles and add all the contacts you want to be notified that they call. Set the Use Profile to Normal, and add the Ringtone you want used. Save the Exception. Then for your active Profile, create a new one and turn of the Notifications for Phone calls. Hope this helps Rcbjr. |

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~On the Handango website there is program called "berry blocker" that does exactly what you are asking. The number that you desire to block out goes directly to your voicemail. Try the trial software to check it out.
