OK I did it I bought the 7100i mainly because I found a woman on craigslist selling hers in excellent condition with the sim for $80.00 She was a really sweet granola crunching type Seattlite who was an idependent film maker and only used this phone for a project for 3 months. So far I really like it.. well what I know how to operate.... I am trying to figure out text messaging however it seems that my text messaging is having issues... like user errors I am sure I can't figure out how to send a plain old text from my blackberry to another phone...Also how can I download programs or OS's without paying a fortune for them.. most places have free downloads for programs I am not looking for anything in particular just new interesting things for my blackberry to do..

Secret fox, to send text messages, if you open your mail application you should be able to click for the menue and select "compose SMS".

For downloads, check out the BB Downloads tab at the top of the page. There are many excellent programs there that are free and can be downloaded directly from your BB's browser (if you have a data plan). Otherwise, you'll have to use the Desktop Manager on your computer.

an OS download won't cost you a dime either and you can find those on RIM's site
i don't want to offer up advice on the text issue, bc im not a nextel subscriber, but can you be more specific on the error(s) that you are getting?

I am not getting any error its just not sending... just puts an x next to it.. Aparently either nextel or Blackberry is having a nationwide issue on SMS messages she said to use my MMS messages whatever the heck that means... do I run the software I got with my BB onto my laptop then plug in my BB to download stuff how does it all work.. I am sure I could read my manual but ya'll are way more fun to talk to then that book... good lord its alot of mumbo jumbo.
