    7130 vs 7100

    I have a 7100x on o2 in england.

They have just released the 7130g handset - but I won't be able to get it for a year as I just signed up to get the 7100x - has anyone any views on whaat the improvements are?

Is it better? Or is it just a facelift?

its basicaly the 8700 but in the smaller form factor, so its got the faster processor and edge compatability amongst a few other things. see here http://www.blackberry.com/compare/in...6a3a6317b775TR

My choice would be the 7130. Seeing that it is newer, it would have much better speed performances, technology would be better & newer features. Than the 7100 from yester yrs.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I had a 7100r (Rogers Wireless, Canada). And I just upgraded to the 7130g. There is a bit of a face lift, and the screen is noticeably brighter and crisper. But the real changes are inside. Double the memory, quadruple the ram, and the processor is FASSST!

Plus, with EDGE, it's like going from dial-up to high-speed.

Boot time from inserting battery is counted in seconds instead of minutes.

And, the auto-dimming screen adjusts to the ambient light around you, and, I can still read the screen in direct (bright) sun light. Couldn't do any of that with my 7100. (though it made a good flash light!)

If you can afford the upgrade....I would give you two thumbs (and those are BlackBerry thumbs!) way up for the 7130g. Especially if you use it for more than just email.
