Question 7105t OZ aim help for a newb

ok lets see i just got my bb yesterday used from someone at work.
everything seems to work except the preloaded aim, yahoo and other messengers.
this is a tmobile unit if that matters.
when i open aim i get it to sign on and i even get the messege on my computer that im signed on in two locations. the screen on the bb will load up to 80% and say its retrieving my buddy list. it stalls there and then comes up with an error saying communication error please try again or check your settings.
any ideas? im not sure whats wrong for it to get that far into loading and then fail each time.
i tried searching but this is my first day on here so i may not of looked in the right spots.
    thanks in advance.

    Have you tried reinstalling it?

I don't think the OZ app needs the TCP set up as it uses SMS messages.

Welcome to pinstack. . .this use to happen a lot for some reason but if you install the most up to date OS from T-moblie, it'll fix it some what; it rarely happens to me since I upgraded. Also, make sure you "allow this connection" when the instant message application request the SMS connection when you first log on. Keep trying to sign on right after it gives you the timed out message, it'll eventually work. Try turning off your phone if it doesnt work try a battery pull.
