| 7105 and 7100g backlight
Does the 7100g have a multistage backlight? A few people at the office have Cingular and the 7100g and my 7105t is WAY brighter. I can even hit the power button to get another level of brightness! Is there a setting on the 7100g somewhere? The screen is pretty good but looks more like my 7230 than my 7105. |

No, I think thats one of the improvements of the 7105t. Since the 7100t had such a dull screen. But my 7100g screen blows any 7200 series out of the water |

you learn something new everyday. I didn't even know about the brightness control through the off switch.

Dunno if the g does, but my 7100t certainly has multilevel brightness. Now at 100, the 7105 will still be brighter than the 7100 though.

| Re: 7105 and 7100g backlight
I've got a 7130e w/ Verizon. I set my brightness to 40% (still plenty bright for most of the time) and when you hit the power button on the top of the unit it goes to 100% brightness for a few seconds. By adjusting the brightness down to 40% and having the unit auto-on/auto-off weekdays & weekends, I only have to charge mine once a week! I get about a 100 or so e-mails a week on it and also use it as a phone. I have mine turn on @ 6:15am and off @ 9:30 weekdays and on @ 8:00am and off @ 11:00pm weekends. This keeps your significant other from throwing it across  the room when it vibrates w/ an e-mail @ 2am. Be sure when you first get your Blackberry, charge it fully before using it the first time (I know, it's tempting to play w/ it for an hour or so instead when it first comes out of the box ) and then don't charge it and/or leave it connected to the USB sync/charge cable till it goes below 10%.
