Not free to my knowledge. Telenav among others are available, but at a fee. Kind of expensive, but worth it to me. good luck.

Re: 7100i GPS

There's Mologogo. It works with any GPS Nextel phone. The functionality for the 7100 and 7520 are pretty limited though. It will give you your location with google maps. It's supposed to let you add friends and notify you when you come within 2 miles of them, but that function doesn't work for the Blackberry.

There's Hello World Google Map client. It's free and ok with the author apparently, as long as you're ok with it having an UNREGISTERED sign on your maps. You can download it over the air at www.freek.ca -Steve

Re: 7100i GPS

how does this program work, can you plug in an address to view directions or is it a straight up map?

Berry411 will let you plug in addresses for directions and maps, but it's not a GPS program. Mologogo is basically just a straight up map for your blackberry with a GPS locater. And Google Local is a map program + directions and yellow pages.

Re: 7100i GPS

Yup. I prefer Berry411, because it has other search tools built in, like reverse phone lookup, dictionary, etc. But I do like the way Google Local just lets you zoom and pan the map easily.

The latest version of berry411 has GPS as a location selection. It doesn't show your location on a map. But it makes it easy to search for things close to you and give you directions to it from your current location.

Re: 7100i GPS

With any version of Telenav previous to 5.1 you can borrow service from a friend, simply put their username and password in your BB and you can use their service for free. Make friends with Sprint reps and Im sure they will be happy to let you borrow it.

However, the new 5.1 version locks the username to your phone, so you have to subscribe to it yourself.
