    7100i Address Book help

Is there anyway to edit tha address book on the 7100i in Excel or something else and swap back and forth like the old iDEN software? I had to hand enter over 180 entries because the "Boy Wonder" at Nextel didn't know how to do it when I bought the 7100i. When I went to pick it up, I found no entries in my address book and my old Nextel i730 was shipped out and the SIM damaged! I entered everything by hand from an old Excel file I made but I'm looking to rearrange my contacts in a more convenient way.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but here is a work around. If you have Outlook and you sync you can export your contact data to Excel and manipulate it and import it back to Outlook. Let me know if you need more info on just how to do this...

Thanks Gary. If it isn't too much to ask, I would need a little step by step for this. I have Microsoft Outlook.

Its pretty simple - in Outlook go into contacts. Then File>Import / Export > Export to a File> Excel Follow the prompts and you will save a new excel file with your data. So long as you keep it properly mapped to the fields you should be able to manipulate the data and then import back to Excel. I would import as a new contact file and make sure all is in order then you can delete the old file if you wish...

    Hope this helps!
