I just got a 7100g from a friend and want to delete the address book entries. I have never owned a blackberry and have no idea what to do to do this. I looked around in options and settings, but haven't found anything. I have also tried manually deleting them, but this doesn't work either. please help. thank you in advance

if you want to restore the bb to factory settings and don't care about the apps that your friend had on there, do a security wipe ... that should delete everything

    options/security settings/click trackwheel/wipe handheld

the track wheel is broken - locks up upon scrolling sometimes and doesn't click

or is there a way to delete each one individually? there is only 40 or so stored on here, so it wouldn't be to bad to do it that way

Try this, Connect to your PC. Open Desktop Manager. Select Backup/Restore. Click the Advanced Button. Now on the right side of the display you will see all the databases that are on your BB. Select Address Book. Now click on the Clear button on the bottom of the table. Close the Backup/restore and disconnect the BB from your PC. Check to see if the address book is cleared.
