Hiding photos

I have a 8330 with a 2gb card. Now let's say I take some compromising pictures on my phone, is there a way to store them so that any Tom,Dick or Harry that wants to snoop in my phone can't see?

An easy fix is to enable a password for your phone so only you can access any portion of your phone. There's probably a 3rd party app out there though to do this.

You can enable encryption on your media card so if the media card is removed, it will not be accessible by someone without your password.

Just a warning if you'll use FileLock... it just rename the file to .lck... If someone gets the file on a pc... It will open anyway....

That's why I have encryption mode enabled as mentioned in a previous response. Filelock 'hides the file(pics)' on t BB and media card encryption shows the card unaccessible on PC.

Had bad experiences with this little program. Kept changing my time and date somehow.....and I lost some messages. Maybe it was a mistake in the way I configured it......but I had to dump it.

No. No shortcut. I just place all the items I want to lock in a created folder on my memory card and then lock the folder through the filelock app. Just make sure to answer yes to each prompt.

If your running 4.5 let me know and I'll tell you how. Other wise you can hide use filelock (which I didn't like). File lock has to be present on your bb in order to see the pick so if you decide to delete it be remember to unlock all the comprimising photos.

4.5 instruction for file hiding.

Goto
  • Media
  • select catagory (ex. Pictures)
  • select group (ex. My pictures)
  • find picture the select Menu
  • select properties
  • at the very bottom of the description you'll see a checkbox that says hide. Select it and your done

To find the hidden file
Goto
  • media
  • hit menu
  • select explore
  • select folder where files were.
  • hit menu once in folder
  • select from menu "show hidden"

At this point the hidden pics will show up and you can select the pic. To un hide hit menu once pic is selected and show properties and select the hidden checkbox.

just got this application and it works pretty cool and does what i need it to do. i was also just wondering if there was an application which would allow you to just lock your messages; i know u can just lock your whole phone but it would be more ocnvenient to just have a lock on your messages.
