If you get it before the hike, you'll pay the smaller price. You're locked in on it.

As for the differences, I think the Pearl 2 has a 3.2 MP Camera, and Hot Swap Media Card. I'd have to look at the Pearl 2 specs again.

The 8800 and the 8300 are two different series, both in looks and in features. The 8820 would not have the camera.
