Need help with jmIRC chat program

I am trying to connect to an IRC chat and can't get connected. I am getting a "***Error trying to connect to IRC server, aborting... Exception: Tunnel failed"

This is a personal BB with no corporate stuff on it.

Are there any security settings I need to change on the bb itself?

Who is your carrier? You may need to set your APN (Options>Advanced Options>TCP>enter wap.voicestream.com if you're on T-Mobile).

I will try to connect and keep getting **Disconnected from server** ..

on Verizon, any help is appreciated..

This is the new setting for T-Mobile. Had to tether my wifes 8320 to her laptop the other day and this is the one that they told me to use now. I have an 8900 and it was already in there on mine.
Try that.
