pros= verizon finally has a gps that works
cons= they have the nerve to charge an additional $10 a month for something that should be included in the first place

Works fine for me as well. Given the features that it has, it is worth the $10 a month for me. It really does a great job.

Yea, I have worked with it for a couple of weeks on VZ BB8830. After a couple of errors, it seems to run fine and work. Used it in PA and FL w/o problems. It is kind of expensive though ($9.99) forever!

I have a question for those of you that have used it. I've heard it only works on the "Verizon" network. Does it work on the "Extended" network? This is a make or break question as I spend about equal time on both.

Hmm. Might have to do it then. One other question, does it make the gps available for BB or Google Maps, or are they still locked out?

Why should it be included? Like anyone here I'll take anything that I can get for free. But it's an optional service. $10 per month is far better than buying a bulky GPS device that won't fit in your pocket, also how many people do you know that can use there gps device in multiple vehicles without uninstalling anything?

Re: VZW: Navigator on the 8830

I live in Des Moines, Iowa. The capital city. I go an 1 hour n half south of there and it doesn't work not cause of the gps. But because that when it tries to do a map request it can't because they don't have any of there own cell site's in the area and it has to dial some special code # to access the maps and it can't do it on other carriers cell site's. So I am paying $10 a month for GPS. GPS is paid for by our taxes. GPS is free for everyone if you have the right device. I have the right device but Verizon decided that people should pay for it again and disable it. So I am paying an extra $10 a month for GPS that doesn't always work.

    Thanks Verizon.....Done

I love my phone and my wife loves hers but we pay a little more than $210 a month. The gps should work to the moon and back.

I have it, and it works great for me. I don't mind the extra cost. It's better than buying a Tom Tom or something for 400-500 bucks.
