    Verizon Blackberry 8830 Stops Connecting

    Advertisement

    OPERA MINI 4 PROGRAM:

    I am a Verizon Blackberry 8830 user. I am able to install the Opera Mini program with no problem. After surfing from site to site, I gradually lose the connection and I eventually lose the connection. The only way to solve the problem is to pull out the battery and reboot the device.

    Is there a Verizon Blackberry 8830 User who may use the program for extended periods of time and not have this problem?

    If so, I would appreciate if you would share your information.

    Thank you.

    What program are you talking about?
    I know that opera does that to me and the only solution that I've found is.a battery pull

    Any special settings you are using on your Verizon device?

    Opera Mini 3 does work flawlessly. I agree.

    Please take a look at Opera Mini 4 which I am using and is a far superior program. The issue is with OM 4

    I don't have a Blackberry, but I'm having basically the same problem with Opera Mini 4. I use a Motorola Q and have installed IBM's Java midlet manager. When I first start Opera Mini 4, it usually works great, but eventually, I click on a link and it responds "connecting..." but never connects. From that moment on, I can't get anywhere until I exit the program and restart it. The "..." continue cycling and I can stop the connection, but when I try again, I get the same result.

    If you're having the same problem on a different device, that suggests to me that the problem is with Opera Mini 4. Its too bad, because the program is totally awesome!

    Try this, Saw it on another forum. Everyone raved about it. Said it worked great, no problems. I'm gonna download and give it a try.

    Make sure you're looking at the 4.2 beta...the one with the zoom in/zoom out. I had also tested the regular 4.0 browser, and found it sorely lacking. But the new beta is pretty amazing. I now use it more often than the BB browser. The beta is at http://mini.opera.com/beta from your phone browser.

    Also, be sure to use the number keys to move around the page.

    5 = zoom in/out
    2 = up
    8 = down
    4 = left
    6 = right
    Trackball moves the pointer, which you use to select links, etc.
    No problem is so formidable that you can't just walk away from it

    Thank you for the post. I will check again. I was using what I thought was the 4.3 beta and most currently the final 4.0.

    If there is anything else, I was not aware.
