Re: Upgraded from 8703e to Verizon 8830 [OT]

Likewise, I hope this is not too far off topic but can you speak to the signal strength difference between the 8703 and 8830. I am considering an upgrade because I am in a low signal strength area and have been told that the 8830 is outperforming the 8703 on signal strength, everything else being equal. By that, I mean the 8830 is supposedly picking up a VZW signal and holding onto it better than the 8703. I also have a client supplied Cingular/ATT 8700 and can't even make a call with it from the same location so I can already compare like devices/different carriers. Thanks Rj

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i did not notice any difference in signal strength between the two devices BUT... I was in an area where I have always had full strength on both devices but the 8830 is an excellent device. I am not looking back. Great decision

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i am wondering if the echo issue ever will be resolved. It took me getting a jawbone with noise cancelling for my clients to hear me.

Yes, this scares me too..seems like many reviews state that the incoming sound is great, but there is an issue with how people on the other end hear you...the background noise issue...people seem to confuse hearing background noise on the device (which does not seem to be an issue) with others having trouble hearing you. I am about to get new Verizon BB and am leaning towards 8703 for its solidity and the fact that it is tried and true and most reviews are outstanding in terms of call quality on both ends.??? BUT I hate idea of getting old tech???
