Upgraded from 8703e to Verizon 8830

I upgraded to a verizon 8830 from an 8703e. I use a BES for work email and I used the BIS for a gmail account. I gave my 8703e to an employee who was using an old 7250. We did the ESN change on both phones (my 8830 and the 8703e) so that we could keep our phone numbers on the new phones. My problem is that my personal gmail is still being sent to the 8703e even though I went in and deleted the account on the blackberry verizon BIS website. Iam not getting the gmail on my new 8830 but it still goes to the 8703e??? Any thoughts? Thanks

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~once you do the device switch through your DM you must then go to the Blackberry website and complete the change. It will ask if the new device is the device you will bu using and also if you accept the new pin on the device. Once done you resend all your service books and everything should finally be switched. www.blackbwrry.com and choose blackberry for life section. Follow prompts

Thank you PDUB204. Got it. I still don't understand how this is occurring when I have deleted the account from the Verizon BIS website. How is it still sending email from an account that doesn't exist according to the BB BIS website?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ with Verizon once you register the account with your device it registers it through the bb website in case it somehow gets deleted all you have to do is send service books to get it on your bb. You must do this step from a pc not the bb itself. You will also be able to keep your old bb address from your 8703 and not have to set up a new one

PDUB204, I'm now getting my gmail on my 8830 but my employee is also still getting the same email on my old 8703e. Any idea how I can stop him from receiving my gmail?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~he will have to do the same setup switching from his 7250 and it will adjust his accounts accordingly

Re: Upgraded from 8703e to Verizon 8830 [OT]

Sorry of this is too far off topic but I wonder how your experience has been going from the physically larger 8703e keyboard to the 8830?

I plan on buying my first BB this fall and I still am leaning toward the larger keyboard on the 8703e. I was fat-fingering (literally in my case) an 8800 today and the keys did seem small and close together. That is a gripe I have read often but I have never actually talked to someone who has used both BB models.

Thanks and congrats on your 8830.

It's completely a matter of personal prefrence. Some are ok with switching to the 88xx keyboard. Some aren't. I've been happy with my 8800 after getting used to it (came from an 8700c). YMMV.

If this helps at all, I purchased my first BB back in February - an 8703. Last month I upgraded to an 8830, and I've grown to love the keyboard on the 88. It took about a day to get used to it and I've been "flying" ever since. I've come to prefer it to the 8703, and I can tell you that the OS on the 8830 really does make the 8703 look like a dinosaur.

Thanks for the encouragement. I also notice that you are a Verizon customer yet you did not complain about the sound quality of the 8830. That's encouraging as well. Maybe Verizon is making some progress. Again, thanks

Oh, I didn't realize there were complaints about voice quality with VZW. That's pretty much their strength over every other carrier (yes, Takeshi, YMMV ). In fact, the main reason I've stayed with Verizon is that I use my cell for conference calls on many occasions and people can't tell I'm not on a landline. I love everything about the 8830, it's as good a phone as it is a PDA. Only thing missing is a camera, but that's really not a big deal.

I'm sold. My New Every Two period is up next month. That's when I'll make the move. Thanks again and enjoy your new BB.

Sounds like you'll be doing the same.
