Looking for opinions from fellow Stackers on the 8830WE.

My daughter just called me and asked if I wanted to buy her BF's 8830. I love my 8330 but I am always looking to try new things. I know it doesn't have a camera but other than that will I be wanting my 8330 back or will I even notice much difference?

I plan on keeping both and switching back and forth so I can learn a new device while I wait for the Storm or whatever I get when Alltel goes Verizon. Thanks for any input and opinions. Oh and I feel like I am stealing it from him for $75.00.

The 8830 has half the memory of your 8330 so if you like lots of goodies on your BB that's something to think about

I agree with azstar, my 8830 was always having memory problems. Yopu basically have the same phone now in the curve, just don't have a camera! IMO I would stick with the curve!

I've had both & still own the 8330.

8830 WE has about 30 megs less of onboard memory. IMO the 8330 keyboard is better. The 8830 is a litte larger too and has a 2.5 mm jack. These are just a few of the differences.

I'd still take the 8830 for $75 and use it as a backup!

Good point azstar but I don't use a whole lot of goodies just the basics so it might be alright. I will just be driving everyone nutty switching them back and forth. If it wasn't so much on Alltel I would just add another line for it and use it for work.

Oh with out a doubt I am getting it for 75 even if I never use it can't pass on a deal like that plus it would make a good back up if both my curves and extra Pearl went south.

No doubt 75 for a backup from a trusted source is a steal

I had issues with my 8830 with memory leak. Just from my messages. Even when I put all my media on a card and deleted all apps. If you don't use many apps or extra memory its a nice device. You'll miss the camera and the size of your curve though. The 8830 is bulky! $75 is a deal any way you look at it though. Especially for a spare or if you ever travel.

Held on to my we for several months and never looked back ..
It took a bit to get used to the smaller key lay out but i finally let it go .......i would wait till the bold comes out .save your cash and add to it little by little and go bold.. That would be the only berry i would go for instead of the curve

Not a snowball's chance I would go from an 8330 to an 8830, unless you frequently travel overseas.
Otherwise there is nothing about the 8830 really that isn't bested by the 8330.

Thanks for the input gang. I went ahead and took it for a back up so now I get to sit and figure out why switch device wizard isn't working when I try to transfer my #'s and such.
