It's been around since the beginning of August. You can download it from Verizon's site, but you'll need a Verizon phone number to be able to do so.

Go into the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader" and delete the Vendor.xml file; you'll be able to upload to your device then.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~My father and I both have VZW 8830 and he did the update and it was .148 , then he told me about it and so I downloaded the update and it was .66! I don't know why I didn't get .148!

You unlock the vendor themes in another file. Deleting the vendor.html file let's you load the OS on a phone of another carrier.

I installed it on my Sprint 8830, and I didn't notice any significant changes, other than gaining some memory. Some of the VZ users on another forum reported some differences in text size and/or fonts, and some said there was decreased volume for ringtones.

If you go to Verizon's site, you can find the download. You'll need an active Verizon phone number to download (doesn't have to be a BlackBerry Phone number).

I haven't noticed any difference. All that really means is that I haven't noticed any difference.

Test what on the 7130? You can't use one OS on a device it wasn't intended for. you can use an OS (for example) of the 8830 across different carriers who use the same 8830, but not different devices even if on the same network or carrier. So, an OS for the 8800 will not work on 8830. And OS for 8830 will not work ok 7130.

hope that helps. (Did i mis-understand your post? Seems like you have a lot of experience with your Blackberry since you have 135 posts)
