Well, who knows... I might have been having audible hallucinations!!
To me, it seems louder. It scared the crap out of me, when I was reading the news, and the phone rang.
Ugh, couldnt think of anything to change it to.

Just loaded this for the BB8830 from Sprint. Worked like a charm, and the Zen Themes do seem a little faster too.

Question Re: Latest 8830 OS: v4.2.2.176 TelUS Mobility [110507]

For the people who applied it to NON-Telus phones. Does it fix the memory leaking issue? Also was curious about the audio issue which I previously asked about.

Depends on where you're coming from. I believe one of the original OS's for the 8830 had (as did several OS versions on different devices) some bad calendar syncing issues.

I've heard several comments about this version being a bit faster through transitioning screens, which I also think is what I'm finding.

If you did it for those two items, plus the supposed volume level increase on the ringing (which I THINK I've noticed too, but not really sure since I don't get a lot of calls), then i think it would be worth it.

Plus if you've never gone through an OS upgrade it's fun! Don't worry, it's nothing like changing OS on your home computer. It's much easier.

Keep in mind that before doing the upgrade pull up, read, and understand the threads about the upgrade process and the "unlocking vendor themes". Next thing to keep in mind is that if you are on a Corporate BES system only do this upgrade from your work machine (or if you can sync using your laptop then you're ok). If you do it from a machine that isn't connected to your BES network then your blackberry won't go through the "Enterprise Activation" until you connect to your work network. You'll still be able to get calls, but no emails or calendar things will come through until you sync at work. If you have BIS (non-work network) then you can do it on whatever system you like.

    Hope this is helpful.

Has anyone else noticed that the media player doesn't restart after a phone call? It just stays paused now. At least mine does. Could that be an option somewhere that I hadn't noticed before?

I never recieved an error message. Try reloading the software, and remember to delete the "Vendor" file. You can find the detailed instructions on this site.. Just search...

    [Copied from previous thread]

After i try to install the new telus mobility device OS, again, i delete the vendor.xml file and run apploader. the same problem keeps popping up: "The application "Browser" cannot be loaded, because it requires the following applications that are not available: net.rim.blackberry.net"

Can anybody please help me to fix this stupid problem. every time i try to load an app i can't b/c the "Browser" cannot be loaded.

    Thank you!!!
