Is there a FLAW with the Media Player?
I think there might be a flaw with the media player unless there is a setting to stop this but I dont think so.
I added music to my SD card. While I was walking to the train, it would play fine. When I got on the train which is under ground and there is no signal, the song would play and cut out at times, like its a CD skipping. At first I thought it was my headset, but after I got off the train I received a BBM and my setting is to Vib then make a tone. While I was listing I got the BBM and my phone vibrated but when the tone was suppose to make the noise thats when the music cut off then came back on.
Im thinking while I was underground since I had no signal, the cut in and out was an alert of some type.
Is anyone else having the same issue?
Also how can I stop this without changing my tone settings?
Oops, sorry, this is my first post, and Ive been lurking for a while and finally decided to sign up.
Great site you guys have here.
i didnt like the media player so i got this instead
i def suggest using this app
Hmmmm, I wouldn't think your signal would have anything to do with media files playing since they are stored on your media card and not streaming....I wish I could help you.
I will be watching this thread to see what the device experts say though.......I'll be riding the trains into NYC in July and hope I don't experience this.....seems very strange.......
Your right my signal has nothing to with it, BUT if my phone has an alert tone of some sort that goes on when I have no signal, maybe that is affecting it.
I tried it but the volume is a lot lower then the original player from BB.

I put that Berrysoft in my phone but when i goto add folder none of the songs come up.
Nevermind I got it. For some reason it wasnt shopwing b4 but now it is.
I will see If this gives the same problem.
ok open xPlayer and do the following...
menu>add file/folder>hit the back button until you are at these files:
then do this
sdcard>blackberry>while the music folder is highlighted open the menu>choose select
now you should see your music in the playist...let me know what happens

I got that Lucky, thanks.
Anyway to have seperate folders for Music and Videos?
I added music and a vdieo and the video is mixed with the music.
you probably put the video there...you would have to move the file to your video folder in your sd card...its labeled as: Media Card/Blackberry/videos
and from then on just make sure you save files to the appropriate folder
Here is what I did, let me know if its wrong.
I open Berry, click Add File/Folder, I went to SD then selected my music folder. I then went back and added my video folder. When I look in Berry, all the songs and videos are together.
How can I have berry sort by folder rather than putting all the songs and videos together?
i'm sorry but i don't believe the current xPlayer has the ability to sort between music and videos. that would be a good idea though...you should suggest it at their site
i mean you can rename your video files with the prefix "VID" and have it sort by name so that all the videos are together...but i don't believe there is an option for that
Hmmmm, im gonna have to do some thinking.
Any other free media players?
Thanks again for all your help.
I'm having a similar problem, not with xplayer, but with the BB rebooting while using any media player while losing signal (being in the subway). I've tried it with berrytunes, media player, and xplayer, and they all reboot when the signal fades off. I'm going to try disabling the radio when underground, but this is obviously a terrible solution. If anyone has a tip, I'm all ears at designerboy(at)gmail(dot)com
