Is it just a huge memory leak?

I haven't added any new software lately, or done anything new or different with my BB. Just your everyday texting/internet surfing/phoning

So here's the problem. About 3 nights ago I plugged my phone in before bed. The next morning- at 9:45, when my alarm was set for 6.... my roommate comes in and is like "Weren't you supposed to wake up at 6?" I was like "Yeah, I have an alarm set."

    Well-- think again Andi.
My phone was a white screen and in these funny fonted letters (which I had never seen before) it said "Application failed to initiate Please press Reset"
and there was a little "Reset" word that was highlighted.
I tried to turn my phone off, it didn't work, so I hit reset

It restarted my BB and since then I've had crazy problems

randomly deleting my texts (which is a log problem, I know.. it does that to save memory, blah blah blah-- not a big deal) randomly turning itself off and on, I have the hourglass every 1.394 seconds (like, it blinks on and off) and that is causing my battery life to suck (because it's "waking up" every second to flash the hourglass.

I can't text because of the lag with the hourglass and I can't answer calls for the same reason.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!
    i'm going insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much sounds like a memory issue, for sure.

Have you done any of the things recommended here and here to free up some space?

Go to Options>Status and tell us what the "file free" says.

    Maybe a virus too?

Does Kapersky labs make a Antivirus Mobile for Blackberry?

It's possible. Think about it this way.

The Microsoft Windows operating system has the most security flaws and virus' out there for it. Why? Not because it's less of an operating system or it is shoddy work. This is because it's the most popular operating system - so people naturally attack it first.

Well, Blackberry's are the most popular professional PDA/Phones in the world. So - which is going to get attacked with Malware - the Nokia or the wicked new Blackberry that just hit stores?

Furthermore - our Blackberry's keep all kinds of important information. Why WOULDN'T someone want to attack it?

    I didn't say it wasn't possible. That's why they've developed the software!

I just haven't personally ever heard of it happening.

And if you're on BES - a Blackberry hack would be as simple as a computer hacker getting passed your company's firewall, hitting the BES machine - and BAM - you're hacked and so is every other user of the Blackberry devices.
