    Hello,

Long time reader here. I have been battling Verizon and their "locked" GPS on the 8830 for probably about a year now, since the phones release at least. I have finally come to the conclusion of my long winded battles, and I have provided a YouTube video to show you. I'm finally somewhat satisfied with my Verizon phone, this took far too long...

    Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7GnIb_oFNw

    Thanks
    Tom

    What does this mean?

You fought them until they gave in? You hacked something? Most importantly, how can I be like you?

This same message has been posted on howardforums and crackberry but without any instructions. What does everybody make of that?

Probably fake. Viewing the video will probably just send some extra ad dollars to his account. Beware!!!

I hope it turns out to be real, but I'm very skeptical at the moment.

    Fake.

Unless some new OS opens up all of the information in the Options-Advanced Options-GPS screen for the CDMA devices.

Say hello to an 8820 in a Verizon housing.

That's kind of what I figured as well.

the guy signed up to YouTube yesterday, signed up here and to other BB sites stating the same thing today.

This would have been a funny prank on say April Fool's day, now it's just lame.
