Question How to dial 800 numbers?

After having the phone for a few months now Ive come to notice that the number keypad does not have letters on it like every other phone.
If I wanted to dial for exanmple 1800-EXPEDIA how can I do that?
My friend who has the Pearl for Verizon showed me his phone and he did 1800 then typed EXPEDIA and it worked. I tried on my 8830 WE and I couldnt do that.
Is there a way to do this?

Dial the numbers and then when you need letters, push ALT and then the corresponding letter and just press ALT each time before each letter.

Correct. And if you have a bunch of letters in a row, like if you're hitting the letters in someone's name to reach a certain extension, just hold ALT down, and hit all the letters you need.

You would need to press the ALT button on your device to be able to dial a vanity 1800 phone number. I just found about it here in PinStack. But I see some people have answered your question already.
