Does the Sprint 8830 have the memory leak problem

I was wondering if the Sprint model had the same leak problems as Verizon. Was thinking of getting one, but will hold off if this is still a problem.

I have had "0" problems with my 8830. None at all whatsoever, but it is brand new so give it time.

arent memory leaks caused by the OS, not the phone itself?

Verizon users were reporting memory problems after only a few days of use. Maybe it was resolved.

I was hoping they added a software patch to correct the problem since the Verizon release.

Did Verizon release a new OS to correct the problem? Sprint has yet to release their OS in case of this...

Memory leak after first day. Loaded the same programs I had on my 8703e and this morning I lost emails before the 16th and all my text messages. Popped the battery and I got 5.5mb back.

Your web browser cache eats up memory too. I cleared mine and got back 2 megs.

I'm working on my second 8830 and I am having memory leak problems still. Sprint just needs to put out an updated OS patch like verizon did.

I've had my Sprint 8830 since shortly after they were released, and I've been running Verizon's latest OS on it since that was released, and I've never had any memory problems. If anything, it appears I actually gained about 1 meg of memory after installing the Verizon release!

So I am loading the VZW OS now, after deleting the vendor.xml file and editing the BlackBerry.alx file to show all themes. I will monitor this for few days and report back, the last free space reading was 12,311,xxx. Of course it is going to be intitally higher after this OS "upgrade" after normal use I will see what happens.
