    Connector Specific Error - HELP!!!

Whenever I try to Sync I get this error messege. I've searched previous post and found out that it's corrupted data which is causing the problem. I've narrowed it down to being in my address book. I've deleted it entirely from my Blackberry, did a battery pull and restored a previously saved backup. No matter how far back I go with the restore the error continues each time I try syncing. Can anyone help?

    Dano,

Are you syncing your address book with Outlook? The corrupted item is most likely in Outlook or whatever you are syncing your device with.

By the way, how did you "delete it entirely" from your BlackBerry?

Yes I am syncing with Windows mail. How do I find correct the problem if it's my Outlook address book?

I deleted it through the Backup/Restore, Advanced section and removed the database from the device.

Okay, so just to clarify, you have your Windows Mail set up to deliver messages in Outlook, correct? Do you also have your contacts in Outlook? If so, there is most likely a blank or incomplete contact in Outlook causing the sync to fail.

Is there a way from Windows Mail to export your contacts to a file, like Excel? Might be easier to see or notice something that way. Could just be some garbage or maybe even a duplicate causing the failure.

Okay, have you tried clearing it from your BlackBerry completely, then doing the initial sync instead of restoring the address book from a backup?

Since you'll have nothing on your device, the sync will essentially just populate the address book on the device. If you're certain your Live address book is clean, you should then be able to sync no problem.

Yes I've tired all that. Tired syncing after wiped clean, but still get the error. The only way I get it back on the device it to do a restore.

    No worries.

There's gotta be something amiss with one of your address book entries, then.

I mean, if all of your backups are corrupted and then you reload your addresses on a clean device and you're still having this issue, then there's corruption of the data on Windows Live.

Do you have Outlook on your computer? Can you import the address book into Outlook and look at it in Outlook in card view? Sometimes there can be control characters in data that are not visible, something like a line feed or a tab that's causing the failure.

By the way, are you syncing via bluetooth or with the USB cable?
