I do that with my Pearl, just use a 3.5mm audio cable, I put one end in the pearls headphone jack, the other in my car's AUX jack and then play from the bb's media player. It works great for me. I picked up a nice short 12" cable at radio shack for just a couple bucks. It's long enough to work with but I don't have 6' of cable messing up my car. Try it!

    Don't think that will work with a 8830. Jack on 8830 is a 2.5 and car is a 3.5.

    They make adapters that convert
3.5 to 2.5 and are pretty cheap to pick up. I used that so my son could use his phone to play mp3s in my car, his uses 2.5 also.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

they make a step down adapter-however, radio shack dude sold me one in which the pin sticks out of my phone by 1/8". does not work yet, however, i will be going back in the morning to switch it out for one that when inserted into my 8830, it will fit flush-more to come- thanks again!

Ya may want to look at www dot seidioonline dot com. $ 15.95 and reported to work just fine.!! Complete with a mic and answer button. Mind you it was supposedly designed for the 8130 so I am not sure if it will work with the 8830 however I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't..?? same Mfgr, same phone platform, same plug-in @ 2.5mm.

    cheers,
