Ok- so I have a bb 8830 world and its been amazing, I just have one HUGE complaint, and from what I've read it may be fixable (lol)
There are certain times where my phone can't do ANYTHING (not even scroll using the ball or go from zen to expanded icon) without the hourglass coming up for one or two turns... And using the browser!? Forget about it... Even after a battery pull it does it... And it only happens every once in a while...

    What should I do!?

Have you downloaded all current updates, even those from your provider? Sounds like you might have some service books issues. Also, low memory can cause time-outs.

Have you emptied your logs? What do u have running in the background? Do u have something other than email polling something on a regular basis? Are you still on the original out of the box OS? If so, maybe a software upgrade?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ok... Yes- I'm still using the original software... I admit I'm scared of breaking something (lol) so I haven't upgraded anything... What's the best (and/or foolproof) way to do that?
And: email should be the only thing going on automatically

Agree! Just take your time and have faith that everything is working, even though it may seem that it's not...it is!.

I have been getting this too. The ONLY problem I'm having is that I can't find a way to get MobiPocket Reader to completely close. Does it remain on like the Phone, BBM, Messages, Browser, etc?

Ok-- so I'm hoping you guys can save me yet again.
As I was checking about downloading my new OS, I checked my version on my phone currently and I already have 4.2.2.176 which is the most up-to-date version I could find....

Soo.. I guess my next step would be to empty my logs? but i'm not sure what that entails...

Any other advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-)

Go to Messages. Go to the top where the date is listed. Highlight it and choose Delete Prior.

If you're referring to the Event Log, just hold down the ALT key and press the following key sequence: L G L G

The latest OS for your model is 4.2.2.196 here in the thread that was linked in post #6:
    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/blog.php?b=86
Very top of the page for BB8830

You will want to follow the thread cherri linked to in post #5 carefully for the upgrade method.
You can also do a device wipe and clean install using JL_Cmder.
See my blog for a how to on that.

Good luck...let us know how it goes

agreed hrgls driving me crazy too didn't start having this problem until i updated to 4.2.2.196 tho

    go figure

I'm going to have to go with guilty by correlation. it appears that clearing the 3 wks worht of msgs and log files (ALT+LGLG) has got my 8830WE running smooth as eggs.

No memory problems now as it appears that was it. Any1 know if adding a MicroSD(HC) will allow more memory storage or just external media storage?
