    8830 World Edition firmware deficiency?

Does anyone else have this problem?

Try to lock the keypad by pushing the shortcut key "k". Then try to unlock the keypad by pressing the trackball and select "Unlock". On my 8830, when I try to do this, instead of unlocking the keypad, the screen displays "Keypad is locked. Press * (phone) to unlock."

Looks like a bug in the firmware to me.

This function, however, does work correctly on my 8703e.

If anyone has an 8830 with this function working correctly, please tell us what version s/w you have loaded on the phone.

    Thanks!

I have the same problem and I even have the latest update. I was wondering is there going to be any fixes for this. Why would they let this happen? Hopefully there will be a fix for this in the near future.

I don't go through that hassle. I just start typing my password and hit enter and it's unlocked.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ This isn't a quirk, it's intensional. I believe it's so you don't accidently unlock and dial, just like accidently dialing without the lock. I believe this is the way all the 4.2 OS works.
