    Can someone tell me at what point does memory have to drop to before it has an adverse effect on performance on my 8830.

    I think it just depends on you. Mines at 30804952 bytes free and 64356352 total. I try not to get it any lower then that. My Blackberry runs just fine on that. I have no problems.

    That's interesting my file total is 47841280 and my file free is 18342292, how do you have 64 total on an 8830.

    I haven't had any problems and my free bytes are at 4304280... I don't think the windows mentality applies here with X bytes must always be free or the system dies

    Correct it depends on the phone and the user. It varies. Sometimes you can have 10 MB free and your phoen will run like crap other times it can get down to 4MB and run fine. It depends on usage, programs you have loaded on the phone, what info and how much of it you have. Generally speaking try and keep it up above 7-10 MB since this is where most of the reported issues come in.
