    Question 8830/8100 Different OS?

I have the 8830 and I just got my wife the pearl. I have noticed a lot of different features on hers that mine doesn't have. A great example of this is her media player has the capability's to make playlist and mine does not. Her OS is 4.3.0.81 and my 8830 is 4.2.2.123.
Does the Pearl run on a different version or does my 8830 need to be updated? We both are on Alltel.
Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I just checked the Alltel site, and you both have the newest Alltel OS for your devices. Yes, they do run on totally different OSs.

Here's the link where you can check for updates specifically from Alltel:

Yes, OS is device specific. You don't ever want to try loading an 8100 OS on your 8830. You can basically load any carrier OS as long as it is specifically for your device, as long as you delete the vendor.xml file prior to OS install.
