Very hard to do with CDMA. You could probably change all the CDMA settings in the service edit screen to Bell's settings but there's no way you'll get it to work with Rogers or Fido. ~via smartphone mobile.pinstack.com~ |

You cannot unlock Bell and Telus storms. You can try the 50$ unlocking via IMEI things that you find online but as far as I know you cannot. Period. The only reason I had an unlocked Telus one is because it was factory unlocked. Let me know if you end up working it out. |

I want to know, seriously though... Alright, my Storm is a 3G/CDMA -- but it's world capable.... It also has a sim-card slot in it.... It IS possible to unlock this to work on other networks, correct?! |

Alrighty then.. Here is what I did: I called up Telus, and spoke with their agents. I was told that the Storm COULD be unlocked, though they can't do it for me. I was also told "off the record" that there are two ways to do it: 1) an MEP code and 2) Hardware (which voids the warranty) Now, I'm definitely not trying to void my warranty, or brick my berry.. I've done a quick google search, and found a few cell unlocking sites.. cellunlock.net amongst a few others. Does anyone recommend using a third-party site to unlock my phone? What is the max y'all believe one should pay for such a service? Is there a way to get it done for free?! |

I've seen good posts and bad post about unlocking companies. IMO, your carrier should give you the unlock code FREE. They have it, no matter what they say. I unlocked my Bold through AT&T FREE. Now being cdma I'm sure it makes it different, but if its able to be unlocked and used as a "world" phone then the carrier is able to do so. ~via smartphone mobile.pinstack.com~ |

| I just want to be able to use my phone when traveling. I go between Canada and the USA a lot, so having a T-Mobile SIM in my pocket that I can just throw in when I cross the border would make things a lot easier to deal with... Especially knowing I'd probably be in the United States for a month at a time, at least. I don't want to have to own multiple devices without constant need for them.
