Did you try to recharge the battery?

Do you see anything on the screen at all when you try to turn it on?

    Does the LED blink?

Mythought is that the OS may just need to be loaded again and to make sure the usb is not moved during the process. When my pearl gave the 504 screen, I used the 4.6 DM and located the least problematic OS for my phone and got it back up and running. Usb and modem download may also be needed.

    bb dead

The screen is blanke but the red light blinks off and on. I charged the battery and tried to turn it on and nothing happens... I took the battery out and then put it back in and still nothing.

Try removing the battery. Go into the c/program files/common file/research in motion/ app loader folder. From there connect your BB to your PC and click the loader file (looks like a phone) As it starts open carefully put your battery back in and see if it recognizes and loads the OS to your device.

Sounds to me like a rep who didn't know or want to fix the issue. Best thing about it is you have a new device.
