Using BIS with MS Exchange without BES or outlook Filters

I have been racking my brain on this one. Here is the scenario. I have a personal 8700c using BIS. I'd like to be able to get my work email on it but we use MS Exchange here. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Note:
    • I do not want to use BES at this stage.
    • I do not want to put a filter in outlook to forward everything to my BB email account because that means outlook needs to remain open all the time.
With those two conditions specified can anyone help?

Outlook does not have to be open to have emails forwarded to your device. Add your email address in your address book. Set a rule in outlook, click organize, click rule wizard, click new, click check messages when they arrive, select where my name is in the to box, choose forward to people on distribution list and on window underneath click distribution list and choose your email, and click next until it says finish then click finish. I really hope this helps you, this is what I used to do before I have BES active. Let me know.

You can always just use redirector. Comes with Desktop Manager. For this to work, you need your computer on and Redirector running at all times.

Do you know if your company has OWA? I have setup a mailbox using this before and it works without a pc or redirector. It delivers emails into an inbox on your BB similar to the POP3 email accounts. You don't have to go to the OWA website. It also marks messages as read on the OWA exchange server.

If you don't have OWA (Outlook Web Access) setup talk to your IT Manager. Assuming you already have a corporate intranet running IIS is it a piece of cake to get it setup.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~we are going to be setting up OWA in the near future. I am part of the IT Department. Do you think OWA is the best solution if its possible???

If you dont want to use BES, but still get corporate email in a secure way, using OWA is great. Just make sure you have SSL enabled on your OWA server.

When you install DM, you can choose if you want to use redirector or not.

Re: Using BIS with MS Exchange without BES or outlook Filters

I also got the forwarding working and it seems like a good solution. I decided to check out he Redirector only because I'd heard about it and was never able to actaully get it working.
I like the redirector over the outlook method for one simple reason.
The redirector has an option that automatically turns off forwarding when the BB is connected to the computer. This is nice because when i'm at work and I get an email chances are I have my outlook already open and there really isn't a reason to have the email go to the BB too since chances are that i'll deal with the email immediately.
Thanks for your method though cp6169. I didn't know what outlook would auto forward when it was closed. Learn something new every day. I also think that the outlook method is a solution that will work simply for many people.
Thanks again everyone for helping me on this one.

The nice thing about OWA is even if you have Exchange 5.5 you are licensed to use it. Since it will not cost your company anything more they will not argue with you
