    Question unable to use email

    just made my new blackberry email address, when i go to compose an email a box comes up " no message services configured. you will only be able to save draft."

    what do i do?

    A few basic questions first. Do you have a data plan? If so do you have a icon for the email account on the BB after adding the email account? Have you registered your host routing table yet? Options > advanced options > host routing table > menu > register now
    Also, welcome to PinStack and please update your profile with the info that may help, other than it being an 8100 we know nothing else that your profile offers (OS, platform, BES, etc.)

    well i do have a data plan, i have tmobile, unlimited inet and email etc.. i just registered my host routing table, no i dont have a an icon for the email account.

    imma update my profile once i figure out what my os, platform, bes.

    If all of the above is set make sure you have entered your Pin and ESN correctly on the BIS site

    Did you register the host table after adding the account? If so you may need to go back to the BIS site you added the account into and click the button that says send service books. That should resend the books and the account info.

    To see your OS info: options > about
    For PIN and memory: options > status

    ok, a lil info about my phone, i lost my other 8100 this past weekend, i had never setup my email on that one, i get my new one yesterday. when i went to setup the email initially thru the BIS it says " your account is currently configuredto use device with PIN: 23eca**..

    would you like to switch to the device with PIN 244f4**"

    i clicked no when i made it, should i switch or no?

    If you didn't enter the new pin and esn then you need to do that so it knows where to send email

    You need to switch it. It is sending the email account to the old PIN. Go back and change the device PIN and ESN and the info will be sent to the new BB.
