Question about service books! What are they and do I need 4.1 in order to take advantage of it?

Zen works much better on my 8700 than my hubby's 7100t.

My 7290 old no way, I think it's the closest BB to the 8700 with the full qwerty keyboard.

The alt-s does the trick, but only if you stay in the message folder. Is there anyway to make this stay? When you exit out, and then re-enter, it goes back to having all your emails in there too. ANNOYING!!

service books are basic sets of settings that allow the blackberry to acces your email servers. you can log in to t-mobile.com and access them from the email link on the front page. click service books and send service books if you ever have any problems sending or recieving emails...

and as of now there is no way to separate messages in the messages folder unless you switch to certain themes, or view separate folders inside the main messages one. I have submitted feedback to RIM multiple times about this and always get the same answer. We will fix it in the next update

how/where did you get version XXXX.309? I'm in .284. I checked tmobile.com and it shows .284 as the latest update. Is that someone on rim's site? Whats the diff between that and this one if you know?

    Thanks

I am reading these and I am going to give my .02 cents...lol.. The 4.1 has different version depending on the phone. I have the 8700 g and have the .309 the 7100 and 7105 have the .284 and the 7230/7290 also. it is the way ti was desigened by RIM I guess. 4.2 should be out sometime in July. NOT sure which phones besdies the 8700g can upgrade to it. As for the msgs. It is giving you the seperate email ICONS. All my mail goes to my msgs folder and I just go to the Email folder I am looking for an email and it is there. There is T-Mobile UK and T-Mobile USA. So yes you can get it in the UK. =) Also as far as Gmail : RIM does not support BETA so that is why the forwarding was important. I turn my off and on depending IF I get the emails from Gmail or not.
T-Mobile is a great company and their website does have alot of information on it =)

Also Service Books are the first place to start troubleshooting if you are not getting your mail. Also pull the battery for 10 seconds is good too. Hope this helps!!

Here is 4.1.0.371 from Telstra...It will work with your 8700, just make sure you delete the vendor.xml file.

The only thing I don't like about Zen is that it separates SMS from messages. Personally I don't view my messages in separate boxes. It's easier for me to go to the main Messages folder and scroll up if I need to see what address an email was sent to when I'm looking at that message. I don't like having to go find another folder to see SMS messages.
