    Hi folks
Got to admit I am a complete beginner here and not even sure if im in right forum thread - apologies if Im not!
I am really looking for some steer on what ISP is considered the best to work with BB. As I am new to BB Pearl I want to make sure I set it up right!
Did set up a gmail account and tried to set it up through my BB but had some resistance. Will continue to try working it out but am I going down the right track as a beginner with using gmail or are there others better for us beginners!
    Cheers

Re: Setting up email for first time

    cheers everyone!

I have been able to set up access to googlemail (downloaded the gmail app to my pearl) and emails are going back and forward but I think I want to set up access through BIS - these seem to be different ways of doing it? - does that sound right? Anyway having a nightmare logging in to BIS as I havent got my userid and its like pulling teeth to get it from 02. Anyone any ideas?

Also, my Pearl seems to have defaulted back to just being able to type in all the functions (email, SMS, tasks etc) with single letter at a time rather than using Smart Text. IS it easy to move between the different types of typing ie back to Smart TExt?

    Cheers

BIs is easy to set up, and it is my perference. I have gmail and yahoo setup this way. I believe that only hotmail will only work with cingular service. You should beable to set it up from your phone or from or BIS provider.

    thanks Boom Boom
I have been able to set up BIS gmail this morning. I now have an extra icon on my home page (as well as the 'M' for my gmail which appeared after setting up gmail application yesterday). Bit confused as to which one to use and the pros and cons of each. Could you give me your opinion?
Also, sorry to be such a novice but what do you mean by Cingular service versus anything else?
    Cheers
