I had the option to set up a **@**.blackberry.net email address when I log on to BIS site. And I haven't been charged for using it so I guess it's included with the BB plan.

You need to contact your carrier or check their website for blackberry data plans. Depending on your carrier the price range is about $30 to $20 if you have AT&T or TMO.

Go to Email Settings and select Create New Account. Then follow the steps and that should do it.
Holler at me if you need some fresh ringtones.

***@***.blackberry.net email accounts are true push email accounts and can be a great account if setup correctly. Please be aware that email will only be delivered to the BlackBerry and will not be stored anywhere (No pop/imap/webmail access to mail) by default unless you utilize the forward option(Forwards a copy of incoming email to an address of your choice).

With that said blackberry email accounts are provided free of charge if you are subscribed to a BlackBerry data plan.

I'm am new to the whole bb platform. I'm from ireland abd my carrier is o2. I'm not to sure what bb dataplan is?

Whenever I go to options to setup account as suggested it say account has already been created. If I go to create new it ask me for pin code and imei or somthing like that. After typing that in it still doesn't let me.

Can someone give me the link to the website where I can setup blackberry email account

Try this website....NOTE - You will need to have an email or data plan set up with your carrier in order to set up your email accounts on your Blackberry. The website link provided will allow you to set up and manage your email accounts only after you activate the appropriate data plan with O2....

Did you purchase your device used? It sounds as if the former owner had set up an account and has not "released the PIN". Unfortunatly this is not all that uncommon, and a bit complicated to fix. First suggestion is contact the seller and see if they can help you....

This happens with new users usually when they setup their email accounts via their blackberry. It's always better to do this via PC. No sure how they get into this situation though.

That nothing happens depends on the thing that you don't have a BB data plan. So pls call your provider and let them set it up for you. After that you can setup your mailaccounts via BB or via your PC.

Normally that will return this error when loging in via PC for the first time:

Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your device to access BlackBerry Internet Service

If you get that message, follow the steps in this thread:

How to Change your BIS log in mode to allow internet log in

But Peter is also right - If you have not yet set up a data plan you cannot log in to the BIS website...

No previous owners. I have had the fone now about a month on contract with o2.

I will phone them 2moro to see if they can sort it. All I want is the one email address. Preferably blackberry email if free.

Will keep you all posted. Thx
