Problem with mail connector and Lotus Notes 6.5

Hi everybody... I'm trying to configure my corporate mail with my BB pearl using the mail connector, but, when I try to install de mail connector, I've got this error message:

'sorry, you do not appear to have lotus notes installed on this computer'

Obviusly, I have Lotus Notes 6.5 installed on my computer and working properly.

Someone knows what I'm doing wrong?

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
Notes doesn't need to be installed on your computer to run. Your company could have just installed it once on a random computer config'd it and the copied the C:\lotus folder and just drop it on each persons PC.
Check the control panel for installed apps. Make sure notes is installed. If it isn't. There's your problem.
    Lmk how it goes!

did you ever tfigure this out, I am tryint ot use Mail Connector and Lotus Notes and still have a host of problems. There is little discussion on integrating with Lotus Notes without a BES.

Re: Problem with mail connector and Lotus Notes 6.5

I could never get the mail connector to work with Notes. Granted this was back in the R4 and R5 days (2001) before R6. Even though Lotus Notes was listed in the BlackBerry documention as being supported, the redirector never worked for Notes (I'd get much the same problem; the program wouldn't see the local installation of Notes).

I'd assume this would be fixed by now. Although at the time, our fix was to buy BES.

And now, given that BES Express exists (free for one user, $100/ea user up to 15) it's pretty affordable. I wouldn't mess with Desktop Redirector. BES is fairly stable on Domino, in case your network admin is worried.

This might work, just need more info from you

go to C:\Documents and Settings\[USER XP ACCOUNT]\Local Settings\Application Data\lotus\notes\data\ click on names.nsf (if issue is not fixed)

go to H:\config\NotesConfig\names.nsf -----> this will force to bridge the connection with the local computer.

Make sure that Lotus Notes APP-LNOTES-655 was added to your profile

if its not in your prepop list in the office (internal network only)
    [TURN OFF POPUP BLOCKER OFF]
open explorer> http://serviceplus.db.com > I want to raise a service request> type in the name field: service.plus@db.com and hit OK
    > Request up to 10 Apps for a single XP account
    > number of scope of user 1> NEXT
type in your intial login to your computer including password.
    > scroll down hit submit> search "Lotus" left click add to cart Lincese: NO
    > add someone who is a VP or higher, and hit ok proper syntax first.last
    > go to run>prepop.vbe> add check LNOTES-655 (Prepop successfully completed)
