    Porting your carrier email address

I realise that I am attempting the impossible here, but I am told that it is indeed possible - I just can't track down the BlackBerry guru that managed to set it up!

Basically, I want to be able to use a carrier's BIS email address (i.e. user@mycingular.blackberry.net) from another network. I initially assumed that the address would need to be ported - if anyone has a solution for doing this, I would love to hear.

I do have another theory however (which I haven't been able to test yet): the BlackBerry currently operates on the AT&T network and the BIS is set up accordingly. If I change the handset to another network with BlackBerry access, will it continue to access the same BIS account on AT&T?
