    OWA vs. POP vs. IMAP

So, I'm learning about this new device and I'm coming up with all kinds of questions!

I see that BIS can speak to OWA. That's interesting. But what is the benefit of this versus POPping the exchange mail server? Or using IMAP? It seems to me that, for me, the only reason I'd want to do anything other than POP is if I get quicker notification of mails (although I'm really not that important ;-) and/or I can see other _other folders._

Any thoughts on what I should use?

    Cheers,

    Mike Whalen

So the others would be slow?

Without BES, is there a way to get those other folders down the device?

You could use redirector to get the subfolders? And no they wouldnt necessarily be slow...

Basically you need to use whatever connectivity options are available for your email server. Some Exchange admins will enable POP or IMAP access but most in corporate environments won't... The OWA method's benefit is mostly for those who have no other choice.

Well, the only benefit I could see is getting those other folders, but if the only way to do that is through Redirector, I'd rather not. One day I'll setup up my Exchange server and BBExpress or whatever it is, but for now I am fine with POP.
