I'm having the same problem with a BB Bold 9000.

Yesterday I restored a back up on my new BB Bold 9000 and since then I can't send emails. The error message is 'No message services configured. You will only be able to Save Draft'

Tryied all the solutions above with no success.

I can't try the last solution because I don't have the option 'Regenerate Encryption Key' in the General Setting option.

    Anyone can help?

I have a Blackberry curve 8330 with Verizon. I have been EAGERLY following the above directions, and it doesn't work for me. I don't have an option to 'resend encryption key' in options/security options/general settings...

I have a personal blackberry, not a bes.

    Thanks for that info...

I tried those first 2 ideas and they did not work.

I installed the newest Blackberry OS onto my Bold (Enterprise server through my work). Before I installed the new version, I backed up the old one and just restored the backup after installing 4.6.0.304. Now everything works well!

Question ''no message service configured'' what now ?

    hey !

i just recently bought a bb 7230 and also deactivated the simlock.

but now i cant text because apparently there is no message service configured.

i dont want to use my bb for email or internet functions just for regular text messages.

i already checked my service book and it said *no entries*

    please help !

    thanks, xxx thea

    Welcome to PinStack, theabb!

You'll need to contact your carrier to ensure your device is properly provisioned to start receiving text messages.

Also, you need to be aware that, depending on your carrier, you might be required to add a BlackBerry Data Plan to your service.

    hey !

ok thx for the quick reply.
i still have some questiones left though.. sorry
so i bought this bb on ebay cause i had an old bb 7290 before and just loved it cause its so easy to handle..
because of that i now have no idea who my 'carrier' would be.. im using an e-plus sim card with a contract which
    def includes text messaging..
oh and the phone had a simlock before but i downloaded a number for that.. could it have sth to do with that ?
    calls work just fine btw
    thanks so much !

    xxx thea
