On the home screen, push your menu button and select SHOW ALL. That should do it.

Here are some common reason users are unable to access the internet.

    1. No BlackBerry data plan
    2. No BIS/BES account created
    3. Device PIN/IMEI not associated with BIS or BES account
    4. Browser Service books deleted or missing
    5. Browser Icon Hidden
    6. and now a new posibility with OS 4.2.2.xx. Browser Icon Moved to folder.

    Hope this helps.

I agree with all but 2 and 3. The email situation wouldn't stop a person from getting online. A couple more things that could be the case

    1. Browser icons were deleted by the desktop manager due to a known issue, need to reload the software
    2. Provider needs to activate internet browsing services.

Sorry, but 2 and 3 are absolutely necessary. Your IMEI and PIN must be registered with the network to get access to the RIM network. In order to do this you have to have a BIS account. At least on most carriers. You don't have to establish an email account, but you do have to access it to get your device registered with the network. Either you have to do this or you have to have the service reps do it for you.

    Hope this helps.

Not to get into an argument with you, but just registering on the host routing table registers your pin/imei on the network as long as you have a blackberry data plan and EDGE or GPRS in capital letters at the top of the screen. I do troubleshooting for these devices daily and know what it takes to get them online. Plus, how do you explain the people that just bought a new blackberry, got it all together and they're online without setting up email? It's not necessary.

Back to the issue, make sure you have a blackberry data plan, internet browsing service is turned on with the provider, and that you've registered in the HRT. If you have any service books with browser in the name, or IPPP for BIBS and are still missing the browsers, then you're running into a known issue with the device and need to reload the software.

Thanks for the information, I'll check this shortcut out later today, when I swap my SIM to my 8700.
