Is it possible to get a virus on your BB

through your email. I have noticed today that my email has been acting a bit wacky. Also I have gotten emails on my BB that haven't showed up in my mailbox on my PC. And My BB just sent 2 emails to my PC. The email didn't have any content just a couple of long titles.

So is it possible to get a virus on your BB? IF so how do I get rid of it?

Do you have Read or Delivery receipts set up on your device and/or Outlook? (or whatever you use on your PC)?

No I don't. I just got a Bold and all kinds of weird things are happening. I never had these problems with my Pearl.

Did you use the Switch Device Wizard when you got it? Did you install the Desktop Manager that came with it? Kind of sounds like maybe you installed the DM and set it up for BlackBerry Enterprise Server instead of BlackBerry Internet Service.

I installed the latest version of DM, upgrade the software and used the switch device wizard to set it up. One minute it seems fine the next it's acting wacky. My emails won't reconcile automatically, It get really hot when I use it and it makes a popping sound occasionally.

Oh yeah, I saw you posted that in another thread. Your husband got this device for you or something?

Sounds like you have defective device. can you get it replaced?

We are in the US and it came from Canada. I really hate to give it up now. I was hoping it was something that I could fix. Is it possible that RIM would replace it?

I heard on another thread that it is when you use DM to reset your setting and address book, that its your 'settings' that are the problem , will check

I can see from your profile that you're in Chicago (I lived in the 'burbs for 39 years!).

There's definitely something wrong with the device from the sound of it. I'm not sure what to tell you as a lot depends on how you acquired the device.

Legally bought on Ebay. Have the phone number of the company on the shipping receipt. Guess I'll have to call in the morning for an exchange. Hoping they'll send it rush delivery. Tomorrow will be the last day to return it for an exchange or I will have to go through RIM to get a new one.

    Thanks for all your help.

Well, if they're at all reputable, they'll stand behind their product and take care of you! Good luck!
