Ok, I have two problems : The first, My phone wont connect to the internet ... BlackBerry Internet & Email forum

    Question Help tethering and internet on 8130.

    Ok, I have two problems :

    The first, My phone wont connect to the internet anymore and no longer has EvDO it is on 1x now. Is there something wrong with the phone or their end? B.T.W. I have cellularsouth.

    Second, I have been trying to tether my phoe before this happened and couldn't get it to work. I called and they said it wasn't supported (which really ticked me off) so I downloaded sharkmodem and tried it and it worked but the trial ran out in minutes. So does anyone know either somewhere where i could get sharkmodem for free or does anyone know the password to login in for example:

    Dial : #777
    Username : MIN@cs3g.com
    Password : ???

    I have tried :
    cs3g
    My phone number
    My MIN number
    Last four of my Tax I.D.

    cellular south's website kinda sucks so i'd just call them and ask if they have a set-up sheet for tethering any phone that they can email you, the differences should be very easy to change for the blackberry. just because they don't support it doesn't mean you can't do it, just means they don't have the book to read to tell you how for that model and they prob aren't smart enough to look at another model and figure it out.

    whenever i teather my 8830 to mu laptop, all i do is just dial in, just the #777 no username or password, course im sure telus is a lot diff then Cellularsouth, they are telling u that teathering is not supported on there 8130 that's odd, i don't see why rim would block that for one carrier, they may mean that u don't have a teathring data plan, but there is no reason ur phone should not connect to the net. as far as the evdo goes u might need to resend the service books from the bis,....let us know if that helps at all

    Thanks for the help. I called asking about the internet on my phone not working and they told me the whole network was down until tomorrow :cry: ,but I have searched their site answercenter.cellularsouth.com and found nothing on teathering the only thing I found was for a wireless card that said on 1X there is no password or username and on EvDO it should be either your number or your MIN @cs3g.com and password cs3g. Any other help would be nice. Thanks.

    AND does anyone know where I can get mobishark for free, or 20 bucks or so. I think fourty or fifty dollars for it is a little hefty.

    B.T.W. Your right Cellular South DOES suck. If AT & T had 3G here I would go with them.

    For me I just use my 8130 teathered link by this

    Username my phone number
    Password is the password for my accout to verify , ( mind you I use Telus )
    And I've noticed that I need to keep desktop manager open . And you need to take a few checkmarks out of the modem config . Then it should be working no? And what I do to fix my evdo not working is taking out the battery . Infourtinatly I'm not aware if there is something on the phone that's the same as a network reset

    Yeah I noticed that too , are you with Telus because I called their tech support and they said I need to get some software through the store , then use the serial of my phone as the password , this makes me think they cannot establish whether I'm using my phone as a modem or not . Ill see on my next bill and I will keep you posted

    Cellular South told me the same thing ,but if you go to their website there instructions to tether an Audiovox.

    Ok got some more info for you cell south guys

    Try using your cell number as your username and your ESN for your password

    You can find it in options > status , try both esn identifiers and let me know if that works

    Will do. As soon as they cut my data back on.

    MY PHONE CALLS TO CS::::I called four times in three days and when I called today they tried to forward me to the data dept. at 5:15 and no one would answer the phone. The data dept. doesn't close until six! I was so frustrated. They tick me off more and more everyday.
