All messages go to the "Messages" folder. You cannot prevent this. You can hide the icon if you like.

You need to go to gmail and in the settings go to filters. the filter your address. The trade-off is any message you send will go to the trash on gmail ( the person will receive it, but it is a bit confusing.

    Here's what I do...

Forward gmail to the blackberry email address...the one provided by your carrier.
Then have your blackberry service set to reply to your gmail.

Emails you send from your bb look like they're sent from gmail...so replies come to your gmail and instantly to your blackberry.

    Gmail archives everything....voila

but some carriers don't have BIS editing sites. At least with t-mobile I have never found it. Besides the problem is usually g-mail specific. It does the same on other types of phones too (or at least I've experienced this problem on sidekicks).

I think t-mobile has it if you get enterprise, but not with regular email.

I use the Gmail app on my phone, seems to work a lot better if you ask me. Has it's own icon, refreshes itself (maybe not as quick as push email with BIS/BES), but good enough. Or you can manually refresh at any time. And the interface looks a lot like Gmail on the web, which is fun. Sounds a lot simpler than setting up all these filter/fowarding rules and so forth.
