    Gmail, IMAP, and my 8330

I've searched google and can only come up with articles and posts written circa 2007. I'm looking for some current information given the dates of the article.

What is the status of Gmail and IMAP on Blackberries? I understand POP will be faster, but speed/time within 10minutes isn't that big of an issue for my needs. What I have noticed, and it may just be something I didn't set up correctly, but my folders (labels) have not downloaded to my device.

Anyone have any current information pertaining to Gmail, and IMAP on our blackberries? Replies stating "stick with POP" are undesirable, I'll make that decision myself. I'd just like information on IMAP, please and thanks .

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~IMAP is working fine for Gmail. You may want to download Gmail mobile to you bb so you can label, star, etc. Tru resending your service books from you BIS to get your email folders to show up.

Still no folders - I'm getting e-mails, but the folders aren't syncing up.

I've done lots of research regarding Gmail, IMAP, and the BB. I'm using Gmail IMAP on my 8130. What exactly do you mean by syncing of folders/lables? What is the native BB email interface not doing that you're looking for? The native messages app doesn't support Gmail's classification of folders/labels from what I've seen. Whatever's in the inbox will go to your BB, regardless of its label.
As far as I'm concerned, it sends me my email, and it syncs read/unread statuses from my BB -> PC. PC -> BB however, generally doesn't happen (some report that it takes up to ~5 hours but I won't wait that long).
    BB Wishlist:
-Gmail BIS integration with an effective 2-way read/unread sync solution.
    -More capable integrated alarm.

I'm getting emails very quickly, and as soon as I delete or read on my 8330, within 5 minutes it is reflected on my gmail account via PC. As far as labels, they -should- sync as folders on your bb.. So if you have a label "keepers" on your gmail, a folder called "keepers" should be downloaded to your BB. Moving messages into that folder will apply that label. Moving messages to the "spam" folder (it should download as well) would be equivalent to marking "report as spam" in your browser.

These are failing to "sync" on my blackberry but are supposed to occur for full IMAP functionality.

Sorry, but I don't think the BB was ever designed to allow the user to manage messages with folders. It's just kind of one big inbox. At least that's how I always saw it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
