    Question Exchange 2003 OWA Issue

    Hi,

I have 2 seperate clients that I have Exchange accounts with that I am trying to setup the BIS to connect my account from this client to my blackberry. I can login to both of them with out any issues by going to mail.comp123.com/exchange I type in my username bhope password 1234 and it logs me in.

Now when I go into the BIS I setup everything and it says that it cannot integrate the account. the email address is bhope@comp123.com password I type is 1234 then I put in the mail.comp123.com/exchange and the mailbox id is my alias bhope.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Andrew

Not all OWA servers are accessible by the BlackBerry BIS.

Yours just may not allow remote client access.

Any ideas what ports or settings I have to change to make it Accessible, since I am the IT guy I think I can open them myself, I just need to know what has to be opened up?

    Re: Exchange 2003 OWA Issue

Just thought I would update now that I found the solution incase anyone else runs into this.

BIS does not support OWA on Exchange Server 2003 as of yet so the work around is to create a pop server on the Exchange box (make sure you start the Pop virtual server and pop service) and then hookup your Exchange server as a pop server in the BIS.

it works here and we have OWA exchange server 2003 (SP2) but I initially had problems too, you have to make sure that the username is the same as that what comes before the @

I know it sounds weird but we use for John Smith a username like this: smithj and an email adress like this: jsmith@whatever.com

this doesnt work, change the username into jsmith in your active directory as logon name and it works here, maybe worth a try!
