    blackberry Email question

ok, the carrier gives you an e-mail address with your BIS service (for me, it's @alltel.blackberry.com)

is there any way to get to that e-mail from a computer so that you can back up e-mails, download attachments or whatnot, or do I have to download each attachment, and then forward it to the regular e-mail account?

The new blackberry.com email addresses are not accessible via a computer. They can only be accessed via your BB without forwarding the message on to another email address.

In the carriers BIS website that you setup you email accounts on, edit the blackberry.net email and add an email address to the auto forward box. If you would also like a copy of your sent email to save on a PC POP account, add the same email you set up to forward to as a BCC email account. Then when you send email from you BB account, you will also get a copy on the POP account.

I would not use your carrier.blackberry.net address for anything. There's no spam filter, you can't check it remotely, if you want to stop email from coming to it, it's a real PITA.

Get a yahoo or gmail account and use that.

    Re: blackberry Email question

it's not a problem with getting an e-mail addres......I've got 4 domains....and unlimited email addresses at my disposal.....I use it in the place of MMS because even if I was stupid and left outlook or entourage running on one of my computers, the blackberry address always recieves the message. I just wanted a way to retrieve messages that'd vanished in the phones "auto-clear" space saver thing it did.....
