BIS receiving the same mail several times

    Hello everyone,

A friend of mine uses BB curve 8310, BIS, he has set his work account on one of our local servers, everything worked well untill 2 days ago. Then he started to get the same mails on his BB for several times. Also yesterday, he got the same 20 messages on the device that he'd already received the day before.

I have no idea what might have happened, as the BB service is new in our country, and we are all still learning and figuring out how to use it
I've been trying to find the answer to this problem in the forums, but I couldn't.
So, does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you in advance

Hi and welcome to PINSTACK. This is most likely a server issue. I have run into this problem in the past with OUTLOOK while traveling in Asia. For some reason the server does not mark the mail as read, and the BIS keeps picking it up, over and over. Unfortunatly the only sollution I know of is to clear all the messages off your email server when this starts happening. I would assume it has to do with the recent introduction of BB service in your country, as you said, and hopefully they will work this issue out.

Thank you, this IS a great place to learn a lot of interesting and useful things!

I hope so too, the problem is that their IT administrator who is the only one with access to their Outlook settings etc, is on holiday at the moment.

Anyway, as a temporary solution he decided to switch off the Data Services while at work so as not to be "disturbed"
